A SECOND EMPIRE MAGISTRATE'S SWORD, FRANCE, 19TH CENTURY - Second Empire magistrate's sword. Chased and gilded brass mounting with polished iron tigelles and pearls, pierced guard embellished with an eagle surrounded by foliage, cruise with two straight three-lobed pommel scales with an eagle on each side, chain forming a guard arm with steel pearl and gilded brass links and gilded brass, with floches at each end. Brass spindle chased with flowers, gray triangular blade, with a remnant of the maker's mark: ”Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal”. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
