AN ITALIAN SMALLSWORD WITH INSCRIBED BLADE, LATE 17TH CENTURY - An Italian smallsword of the late 17th century, with a deep triangular fuller which has been inscribed with chased letters on each side. The inscription appears to read 'MATIA' to one side and 'INTII' to the other. The hilt is of the typical smallsword style, with a clamshell guard and two finger rings, along with a sculpted knucklebow attached to the rounded pommel. The grip wrapped in briaded copper wire set between to faceted iron rings. Italy, Late 17th Century. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
