A ROYAL NAVY OFFICER'S DRESS NAVAL SWORD, CA. 1820 - A Georgian naval officer’s dress sword, dating to the early 19th century (circa 1800–1830), during the reign of King George III or George IV. The style is caracteristic for British Royal Navy swords issued or carried by officers in the Napoleonic Wars and post-Trafalgar period. British Naval Officer’s dress sword, early 19th century (Georgian era). Commissioned officer, Royal Navy. The blade is a flattened-diamon section with light surface pitting. Lion-head pommel classic Georgian naval form. Scabbard is black leather with gilt brass mounts, showing Georgian-style floral and anchor embellishments. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
