A FINE OTTOMAN EMPIRE SHAMSHIR SWORD WITH ENGRAVED BLADE, 19TH CENTURY - Oriental saber or shamshir with a characteristic form of pommel chased crossguard brass, blade with one long groove and two smaller grooves, fully chased in imitation of wootz. Decorated with two moons, a sun and two gold signatures in a cartouche. Wooden scabbard covered with shagreen leather, wire-stitched. Two embossed brass fittings and two bracelets. Late 18th century.
