AN OTTOMAN TURKISH YATAGHAN WITH SILVER INLAY, 19TH CENTURY - An Ottoman Turkish Yataghan with a silver inlaid Arabic inscription in a circular border near the forte of the blade. This blade with a straight back, unlike most yataghans with recurved blades. The hilt comprised of repousse decorated brass set with red and green stones, coral, and applied beadwork and rings. The grip having two bone grip scales in the characteristic eared shape. Kept within a leather wrapped scabbard with punched metal fixtures. Ottoman Turkey, 19th Century.
