A KPM PORCELAIN PLAQUE OF THE MADONNA AND CHILD.
Berlin, late 19th–early 20th century.
Oval hand-painted porcelain plaque finely depicting the Madonna holding the Christ Child, the Virgin robed in red and blue with a light veil, rendered with delicate facial features and soft tonal modeling typical of KPM Berlin craftsmanship. Set within an elaborately carved and giltwood floral frame.

Dimensions: H: 6 1/2 in., (16.5 cm.)
Condition: The porcelain plaque in excellent condition with no visible cracks, chips, or restoration; colors remain strong and detailed. The giltwood frame with wear and age cracks, losses to gesso, particularly to lower section of garland. Backing with age wear and cut-out exposing factory mark.
