Item Overview
Description:
Finely cast bronze group depicting a fox reclining within a rocky hollow, the animal’s alert expression and fur details rendered with naturalistic modeling. The den is sculpted as rugged rockwork, the bronze patinated in dark brown and greenish tones. The underside has a carved wood base shaped in natural outline, attached with screws. The reverse bears a rectangular seal mark in relief, reading 日本国 / 丸喜造 (Nihon Koku / Maruki-zō), identifying the workshop of Maruki in Japan.
