A LOT OF THREE JAPANESE BAMBOO BRUSH POTS, MEIJI PERIOD - A LOT OF THREE JAPANESE BAMBOO BRUSH POTS. Japan, Meiji period (late 19th–early 20th century). Each cylindrical pot is finely carved in relief from bamboo, depicting continuous landscape scenes of scholars in pavilions, attendants among pine, lotus, and floral settings, as well as mountainous river scenes with clouds above. The exteriors are further incised with inscriptions in kanji characters. Each vessel has everted rims and is raised on low circular hardwood bases with three short feet.
