AN ITALIAN GILTWOOD WALL BRACKET, 18TH CENTURY - Of carved and gilded wood in Italianate Rococo style, the demi-lune top with molded edge above a profusely carved scrolling foliate and floral support terminating in acanthus leaves. The surface retains traces of original gilding with later gesso and polychrome, the back with an iron mounting plate and evidence of age and wear consistent with 18th-century manufacture.
