A FREDERICK GEORGE RICHARD ROTH (1872 – 1944) EQUESTRIAN BRONZE - An equestrian bronze sculpture by the famed American animalier sculptor Frederick George Richard Roth (1872 – 1944) showing a man in an 18th century style military uniform riding atop his horse. F.G.R. Roth was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1872. As a young man he briefly worked for his father's business before travelling to Europe and studying in some of the great insitutions of the era, including the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and the Royal Academy in Berlin, eventually returning home to New York and finishing his studies at the New York Academy. He is most well-known to those of us in New York City for creating the statue of the sled dog Balto in Central Park. America, early 20th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
