A SILVERED BRONZE JOCKEY SCULPTURE, CONTINENTAL, EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Depicting a jockey in a relaxed pose, leaning casually with one arm upon a post, the other hand on his hip, dressed in a riding cap, blouse, breeches, and high boots. The figure is finely cast with naturalistic detail and retains traces of its original silvered surface with areas of warm patina and wear, raised on a bronze plinth base. The underside felt-lined. Small-scale jockey and equestrian bronzes of this type were popular decorative objects in France, England, and Austria during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, often produced as souvenirs for the racing elite.
