A MANIEVICH ABRAHAM MANIEVICH (RUSSIAN/AMERICAN, 1881–1942) STREET SCENE WITH AUTOMOBILES OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING - Depicting a lively town street lined with early automobiles and colorful houses, painted in Manievich’s signature Post-Impressionist style with vigorous brushwork and bold Fauvist-influenced color contrasts. The work captures the dynamism of urban life, likely painted in the United States during the artist’s later period, after he emigrated from Russia in 1922. Signed lower right. Manievich, a Russian-born Post-Impressionist, was associated with the Kiev avant-garde before emigrating to the United States in 1922. He exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum (1923), the Art Institute of Chicago (1925), and internationally. His works are held in the Jewish Museum (New York), Brooklyn Museum, Miami MoMA, Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), and the Harod Museum (Israel).
