A HEDLEY FITTON (BRITISH, 1859 - 1929) OIL PAINTING OF A COASTAL SCENE, 1897 - Hedley Fitton (British, 1859 - 1929), an oil on canvas painting of a Hilly Shore and Harbor, 1897. Signed and dated lower right. Framed. Note: Hedley Fitton was a pupil at the Warrington School of Art. He worked throughout England, Scotland, France, and Italy. He lived in Didsbury in the early 1890s while working as an editor and illustrator for The Daily Chronicle in Manchester. He moved to Shottermill, Surrey, around 1898, and he spent his life living at Haslemere. He exhibited his work at the Royal Academy of London, Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, R.W.A., and at the Paris Salon. He became an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1903 and a full member in 1908. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
