A ZVI EHRMAN (POLISH, 1903-1993) WATERCOLOR PAINTING OF AN ISRAELI VILLAGE - Zvi Ehrman (Polish, 1903 - 1993), a watercolor on paper painting depicting an Israeli village scene. Signed lower right. Matted and framed. Note: Zvi Ehrman was born in Poland in 1903 and studied art in Krakow 1927-32. He taught drawing at the Hebrew Gymnasium in Krakow until the outbreak of World War II, after which he worked as an art teacher in Cyprus and from 1963 became a member of the Artists colony in Stafad. Ehrman’s work was greatly influenced by the modern art movement. Many of his paintings are landscapes. In 1998, Ehrman’s wife Erika awarded the Zvi Ehrman prize in memory of her husband to Zvi Tadmor for his artistic accomplishments and contribution to the Israel Association of Painters and Sculptors.
