TWO SILVER-MOUNTED GLASS LIQUID CONTAINERS, LATE 19TH OR EARLY 20TH CEN. - The lot includes a sterling silver mounted cut glass water claret or pitcher by Dominick & Haff, an American silver manufacturer based in New York City. It was co-founded by Henry Blanchard Dominick and Leroy B. Haff in 1872, incorporated in 1889, and it closed down in 1928. The silver mount is adorned with a repousse floral motif, struck with the maker's mark and 'Sterling 464.' And a Dutch glass decanter carafe overlaid with silver to the fluted neck and to the bottom, with beautifully detailed repousse and openwork scenes depicting human figures, putties, architectural details and scrolled foliage motifs.
