A GLASS AND GILT-BRONZE MONTEITH BOWL, 19TH CENTURY - Of circular form, the deep cut crystal bowl with a castellated rim and diamond-cut body, mounted within a pierced gilt-bronze gallery. Supported on a tripod stand with eagle-head uprights joined by a central ring stretcher, the out-swept legs terminating in paw feet holding a ball. The eagle-head supports and paw feet are classic motifs of Empire and Neoclassical French ormolu. They echo designs by Parisian bronziers supplying mounts for Sèvres, Baccarat, and luxury retailers. Condition: The crystal has minor surface wear and a few tiny rim fleabites consistent with age and use. The gilded bronze mounts have light rubbing and small areas of patina, but retain good overall color and detail. No structural damages or restorations.
