A FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE MARBLE AND GILT BRONZE CLOCK GARNITURE, 19 C. - Comprising a mantel clock and a pair of matching urn garnitures, finely worked in mottled rouge and cream marble with gilt bronze mounts. The clock case of architectural form with four fluted marble columns supporting an arched entablature, surmounted by a marble urn finial with gilt bronze leafy sprays upheld by two putti. The white enamel dial, with floral garlands and Arabic numerals, set within a gilt bezel and enclosed by glazed doors, flanked by decorative marble urns with gilt bronze fruiting finials. The base is centered with a gilt bronze cherub holding a classical medallion. Eight-day movement with bell strike, the backplate numbered, and with a winding key present. The associated urn garnitures of baluster form, mounted with winged cherub masks and raised on tripodal gilt supports with paw feet, set upon circular marble bases.
