A FRENCH GILT BRONZE CLOCK SET WITH RHINESTONES, LATE 19 C. - A FRENCH GILT-BRONZE FOUR-GLASS CLOCK SET WITH RHINESTONES, RETAILED BY J.E. CALDWELL & CO., PHILADELPHIA, LATE 19TH CENTURY. The rectangular case with beveled glass panels and gilt-bronze mounts, the borders and dial bezel set with faceted rhinestones, enclosing a gilt dial finely engraved with foliate scrolls and Arabic numerals, the pendulum centered with a rhinestone. The movement stamped Made in France and numbered 729 58, further inscribed J.E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia. The original key is present. The movement has not been tested. Condition: Some wear and oxidation to gilt surfaces; light discoloration to dial; minor clouding to rhinestones; movement untested, but appears intact. Overall, very good presentation.
