A FRENCH CARRIAGE CLOCK, GENEVA & NICE, LATE 19TH CENTURY - The gilt-brass case of rectangular form with Corinthian pilasters at the corners, surmounted by a hinged handle, glazed on all sides to reveal the movement. The dial finely engraved with foliate scrolls and flowers, enclosing a white enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals, subsidiary alarm dial below. The backplate signed Genève & Nice, with further inscriptions Reveil and Aiguilles; the underside stamped with maker’s lozenge “A.D” and numbered 271.
