A PAIR OF CHINESE TURQUOISE-GLAZED PORCELAIN VASES, CONVERTED TO LAMPS, LATE QING TO REPUBLIC PERIOD, CIRCA 1900–1930 - Each of hexagonal form, the panels molded in high relief with figures of scholars and children in pavilions and garden settings, with inscribed auspicious characters, all beneath a vibrant turquoise-blue glaze with darker pooling in recesses. Now mounted as lamps with later wooden bases and twin-light fittings. The relief style and turquoise glaze are strongly associated with Guangdong (Canton) kilns, widely produced for the export market in the late 19th–early 20th century. Condition: Both vases exhibit generally good condition, with no visible large cracks or restorations. The turquoise glaze shows typical age-appropriate fine crackle (crazing) throughout, which is consistent with Qing/Republic wares of this type.
