Item Overview
Description:
A porcelain amphora style vase produced by the famous English firm Wedgwood in Staffordshire, showing a painted scene of two young men racing donkeys or mules through the countryside. The reverse side is decorated with sprigs of colorful flowers, the top being decorated with fluttering butterflies. The underside bears the impressed Wedgwood stamp along with a V and the WUP code which represents either the date 1861 or 1887, we believe here representing 1887.
Victorian England, 1887.
