Description:
Unknown workshop, 1928–1931. Bronze, enamel. Weight 5.57 g. Dimensions 27 × 27.4 mm. Multi-piece construction.
The badge is designed in the form of a crossed anchor and oar, overlaid with a circular lifebuoy enameled in white and red, inscribed "Общество спасания на водах" (Society for Rescue on Waters) and "СССР". In the center, a crossed hammer and sickle motif. Screwback fastening with plain nut.
A membership badge of the OSNAV, one of the early Soviet voluntary societies concerned with safety and rescue on rivers, lakes, and seas. Produced in relatively small quantities during the late 1920s to early 1930s, before the society was reorganized into later state rescue and civil defense structures.
