A BRONZE AND ENAMEL BADGE ”VSEKOKHOTSOUZ,” SOVIET UNION, 1928–1933 - A RARE SOVIET BADGE ”VSEKOKHOTSOUZ” (ALL-UNION HUNTING COOPERATIVE UNION), USSR, 1928–1933 Bronze, silver-plating, enamel, screwback fastening. Weight 3.3 g. The badge depicts a standing hunter with a rifle amid a forest landscape, surmounted by a red enamel five-pointed star set against stylized green foliage. Below, a dark enamel cartouche bears the inscription (Vsekokhotsouz). Reverse plain with screwpost and original circular nut. Instituted in 1928 for members of the All-Union Hunting Cooperative Union (Vsekokhotsouz), an organization formed in 1924 to oversee hunting farms, fur procurement, and export. By the mid-1920s, the Union encompassed more than 2.1 million hunters, managed vast hunting lands, and played a vital role in the Soviet fur trade and rural economy. The Union was disbanded in 1933, making this badge relatively short-lived and scarce. References: I.A. Zhukov & R.A. Marfoy, Badges and Tokens of the Trade Unions of the USSR, no. 27.1.8, p. 279.
