A RUSSIAN GILT AND PAINTED GLASS BEAKER, LATE 19TH CENTURY - Of tapering cylindrical form, the upper register finely decorated with stylized scrolling foliate ornament in gold and black enamel, accented with russet-red floral highlights. The rim banded in gilt. The lower section with vertical cut panels, each overpainted with elongated gilt palmette motifs. The combination of cut glass and hand-painted gilt decoration is characteristic of late Imperial Russian decorative glasswork, likely produced in a workshop influenced by the traditions of the St. Petersburg or Gus-Khrustalny glass manufactories.
