A RUSSIAN PARCEL-GILT SILVER TEAPOT WITH BONE ACCENTS - A finely crafted Russian parcel-gilt silver teapot of sculptural Rococo form, the body repoussé with undulating lobes and a shaped footed base. The spout is boldly modeled as a stylized dragon or bird’s head, while the hinged lid, centered by a domed knop, opens to reveal interior. The handle and finial are made of carved bone, elegantly curved and naturally patinated with age. Hallmarks: ”BCh” Cyrillic maker’s mark; ”AK” Cyrillic assayer’s mark; St. George Moscow city mark; 84 silver proof; 1845 date mark. Weight: 12.15 oz. (344.4 g.)
