A RUSSIAN PARCEL-GILT SILVER TEAPOT WITH BURNER AND STAND, ST. PETERSBURG, 1849 - A fine and elegant mid-19th century Russian silver teapot formed with a rounded, bulbous body rising on its original fitted pierced stand with burner. The teapot features a sculpted spout with scrolling foliate accents and a hinged lid topped with a carved finial. The arched overhead handle incorporates heat stops, likely carved bone or ivory. The burner stand is raised on shaped, scrolling supports, completing the formal presentation typical of Russian noble table services of the Nicholas I period. The piece shows refined craftsmanship, precise hammering, and balanced proportions consistent with St. Petersburg silver of high quality. Parcel-gilt traces are present, especially to interior surfaces and select ornamental areas. Hallmarks: maker’s mark ”GO”, 84 silver standard with St. Petersburg city mark. Date mark 1849.
