A PAIR OF RUSSIAN GARDNER HAND-PAINTED AND GILT PORCELAIN VASES - Gardner Factory, Moscow, late 19th century. A fine and delicate pair of hand-painted porcelain vases of baluster form, each decorated with soft gradient shading from white to sky-blue and embellished with a small floral spray on each side. The rims are highlighted with gilt. These refined pieces reflect the Gardner factory’s taste for elegant, restrained table and cabinet wares of the late Imperial period. Marks: Each with red printed Gardner factory mark under the base in Cyrillic, “ГАРДНЕРЪ ВЪ МОСКВЕ” (Gardner in Moscow). Comparable Literature: Kudryavtseva, T.
