A PAIR OF RUSSIAN SILVER CANDLE HOLDERS, 1867 - Each of tapering baluster form, the stems are decorated with finely chased acanthus leaves and stylized palmette ornaments. The mid-sections with bands of foliate engraving; spreading circular feet resting on squared bases with matching engraved borders. The candle sockets with original bobeches. A refined neoclassical design characteristic of Russian decorative silver of the mid-19th century, likely produced in St. Petersburg or Moscow for the domestic bourgeois interior.
