A RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT LIDDED SUGAR BOWL, MAKER: I.M., MOSCOW, 1859 - Of lobed baluster form with a flaring rim and two cast branch-form handles terminating in chased foliate details, raised on a spreading octagonal foot. The detachable lid is surmounted by a floral knop. The interior is richly gilt. Hallmarks: Moscow, 1859, assay master Eduard Fedorovich Brandenburg (active 1850–1866); 84 silver standard.
