AN OIL ON BOARD PAINTING BY PIETER FRANS II DE NOTER, BELGIAN, 1824 - Pieter Francois De Noter (Belgian, 1779 - 1843), an oil on board painting, Knights' Halt, 1824, signed and dated middle left. The artwork shows a genre scene with two horsemen at an inn. Framed, bears a hand-inscribed paper label verso. Note: Pieter Frans II De Noter was a Belgian painter known for his detailed landscapes, winter scenes, and cityscapes. The son of an architect, he became a professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and developed a reputation for his masterful brushwork and attention to detail.
