A PAIR OF STILL LIFES BY OSCAR SOGARO (ITALIAN, 1888–1967): WATERMELONS AND MELONS, 1933 - A charming and refined pair of still lifes by Oscar Sogaro, a painter associated with the Italian Novecento realist movement. Depicting sliced watermelons and melons set upon a tabletop beside glass vessels, the compositions reveal Sogaro’s disciplined geometry, serene tonality, and sensitive treatment of natural light.
