A FERDINANDO VIGATO (ITALIAN, ACTIVE CIRCA 1900), PARIS – YOUNG WARRIOR - Cast bronze with dark brown patina, mounted on a green marble base. Signed Ferd. Vigato and inscribed PARIS on the base. Circa 1900. A finely modeled bronze figure depicting a youthful Paris, the mythological prince of Troy, shown nude except for a draped lion pelt at his waist. His contemplative stance and delicate features evoke the refined sensibility of Italian late 19th-century sculpture, while the anatomical precision and idealized beauty recall the influence of Renaissance and Neoclassical prototypes. The work reflects Vigato’s mastery of form and surface, combining the poise of classical statuary with the naturalism of the Belle Époque. The subtle patina accentuates the lithe musculature and tranquil expression, lending the piece both dignity and grace.
