A JACOBUS NICOLAUS SANDIG (1876-1933) DUTCH BRONZE 'FALLING ICARUS', C. 1925 - A bronze sculpture by the Dutch artist Jacobus Nicolaus Sandig (1876-1933) depicting Icarus at the moment he hits the water, after he flew too close to the sun and the wax of his wings melted. The piece is signed towards its base by the artist and is set atop a plinth of cuboid marble. The Netherlands, c. 1925. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
