An ebonized wood carving of two men, the elder holding a fainted younger man while standing on a rocky hill or seashore. Probably an allegory of the fallen heroes of the First World War. The general composition is full of dramatism and the use of differentiated surfaces, smooth versus textured, contribute to the almost cinematographic visuals of the sculpture. Not signed.
