A FRANCOIS LAFON (FRENCH, 1846-1913) SIGNED OIL ON CANVAS PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN, 19TH CEN. - A Francois Lafon (French, 1846-1913) portrait of a young woman, signed by the artist to the lower right and dated to some time in the 1870s, the last digit being partially obscured by the gilt frame. Lafon was a prolific artist who composed works for the French State and many major institutions throughout the second half of the 19th century and first decade of the 20th. He debuted at the Paris salon in 1875, and was made a member of Le Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1890. France, 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
