A FRANCES D. MILLET (1848-1912) CHROMOLITHOGRAPH 'REMEMBRANCES OF DAYS FOREGONE' - A chromolithograph entitled 'Remembrances of Days Foregone' after an original artwork by the famous American painter, sculptor, and writer, Francis D. Millet (1848-1912). Among other things, Millet was an accomplished illustrator, working alongside many of the greatest writers of his day to produce quality illustrations for their works, including his best friend, Mark Twain. This piece appears to have been originally designed for a book entitled 'The Homes and Haunts of Shakespeare' by the American polymath James Leon Williams, the discoverer of plaque and inventor of modern dentures, among other things. Millet sadly passed away aboard the Titanic during its fateful sinking, reportedly last seen helping women and children aboard the lifeboats. America, late 19th or early 20th century.
