AN ABSTRACT COLOR LITHOGRAPH, THE RED BOXER, BY LEROY NEIMAN, AMERICAN, LATE 20TH CENTURY - A vibrant abstract color lithograph depicting two boxers in dynamic motion is rendered against a saturated red ground. Executed in LeRoy Neiman’s characteristic expressive style, the composition emphasizes movement and physical intensity through bold gestural brushwork and layered areas of vivid color, including blues, yellows, greens and purples. The central figures are suggested through energetic outlines and overlapping forms rather than strict figuration, creating a sense of speed, impact and athletic drama associated with Neiman’s celebrated sports imagery. Signed in pencil, LeRoy Neiman, along the lower margin and numbered 229/250, indicating a limited edition impression. The print is presented in a simple metal frame with glazing and a wide mat. Condition: The lithograph appears in good overall condition with light toning to the margins consistent with age. The mat shows scattered foxing and discoloration. The glass is cracked with visible fractures and should be replaced. The frame shows minor wear to edges.
