AN ITALIAN ALFREDO BARBINI MURANO GLASS PENGUIN, C. 1960 - A delicately sculpted Venetian Murano glass penguin from the studio of Italian glass artist Alfredo Barbini. The piece is composed of multiple colors of glass, with a black back and limbs, and a white neck and belly, with a gradient of gold-colored flecks spread from bottom to top. The flippers are set into a clear glass base shaped naturalistically as a section of ice. Venice, Italy, 20th Century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
