A RUSSIAN GUSTAV KLINGERT SILVER AND GILT CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL SPOON, MOSCOW, 1896 - Of elegant form, the circular bowl is finely decorated to the exterior with dense polychrome cloisonné enamel scrolling foliate ornament in shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, white, and red, framed by a beaded turquoise enamel border. The interior of the bowl is gilt and engraved with a monogram. The tapering handle features twisted ropework in the Pan-Slavic style, alternating with cloisonné enamel panels and terminates in an enameled finial. The spoon is marked with Russian Imperial hallmarks, GK for Gustav Klingert, 84 silver standard, AA asseyr's mark and St. George for Moscow, assay marks, together with Cyrillic maker’s initials ”А.А” and an additional maker’s mark ”Г.К”, date 1896.
