A PARCEL-GILT-SILVER AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL KOVSH, CA. 1907 - Traditional Russian kovsh of shallow oval form with a pronounced prow-shaped lip and an opposing handle, executed in parcel-gilt silver and richly decorated throughout with cloisonné enamel. The exterior is finely enameled with scrolling foliate ornament and stylized floral motifs in shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, green, pink, white, and red, set against a textured dark ground. The rim is encircled by a continuous band of white enamel beading, echoed along the handle and upper contours. The interior is fire-gilt, with wear consistent with age and ceremonial use. The handle is similarly enameled and gilt, terminating in a stylized hooked form, maintaining symmetry with the raised prow.
