A BULGARIAN ORDER OF ST. ALEXANDER, 1ST CLASS (GRAND CROSS) BREAST STAR, MILITARY DIVISION, LATE 19TH–EARLY 20TH CENTURY - Silver partially gilt and enameled breast star of the Bulgarian Order of St. Alexander, Grand Cross, Military Division. The four-armed radiant star composed of finely fluted rays, with gilt crossed swords applied between the lower arms, denoting the military award. The central medallion with red enamel field bearing the crowned cipher ”СВ. АЛЕКСАНДЪР”, encircled by a white enamel motto ring inscribed in Cyrillic ”СЪ НАМИ БОГЪ” translated as ”God Is With Us”, above a green enameled laurel wreath. The reverse is fitted with a vertical hinged pin and circular backing plate, struck with multiple silver hallmarks including ”800” silver standard. The construction, enameling quality, and form correspond to authentic Grand Cross breast stars produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for the Kingdom of Bulgaria. Enamels are well preserved with no visible losses. Gilding to the swords and selected rays remains strong with expected light wear. Reverse with natural oxidation and patina, without evidence of repair or later modification.
