A GERMAN WWII 50-YEAR FAITHFUL SERVICE CROSS (TREUDIENSTEHRENZEICHEN), NAZI GERMANY, THIRD REICH - A World War 2 era Nazi German Civil Service Faithful Service Medal, First Class, awarded for 50 years of service as a civilian. The medal comprises a silver cross with a gold wreath, a black swastika at the center surmounted by a gilt number '50', hung from a blue ribbon. The reverse bears a square central tablet cast with the legend “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” in Gothic script. The award was first instituted in 1938, though the exact number produced is unknown.
