A GERMAN THIRD REICH KRIEGSMARINE WAR ENSIGN (REICHSKRIEGSFLAGGE), 1935–1945 - A German Third Reich naval war ensign of the 1935 regulation pattern, printed cotton bunting construction with machine-sewn seams, the red field centered by a bold black and white Balkenkreuz extending fully to the flag edges and enclosing a white circular roundel bearing a black swastika, the upper canton charged with an Iron Cross. The hoist is reinforced with a natural cotton canvas header incorporating an original rope halyard, the canvas stamped in black ink with a Reich-style eagle over ”M” device, together with a circular depot or inspection stamp. Stitching throughout is straight machine work with a reinforced header consistent with naval issue production. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C. Condition: Overall very good for a service-used naval ensign. Minor age toning and light staining concentrated along the hoist. Visible storage fold lines. Light surface handling wear. Inspection stamps are partially faded but legible. Colors remain strong with even oxidation consistent with the period fabric.
