A PRUSSIAN MODEL 1915 PICKELHAUBE HELMET, IMPERIAL GERMANY, WORLD WAR I PERIOD - Of regulation Model 1915 form with a leather-bodied shell finished in field-brown, fitted with a removable spike secured by a bayonet-type fitting, was introduced to eliminate reflective brass components for wartime use. The front applied with a stamped Prussian Landwehr-style eagle plate bearing the royal cipher ”FR” for Friedrich Rex and the motto ”Mit Gott für König und Vaterland.” The helmet retains its original leather chinstrap mounted to side posts with national cockades, one showing remnants of red, white, and black coloration. The rear is with an articulated neck guard formed by horizontal riveted seams. The interior is fitted with its original leather liner composed of finger segments with a drawstring, mounted to a metal liner band. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
