A EUROPEAN ROMANTIC DAGGER WITH SCULPTURAL HILT, 19TH CENTURY - A European romantic dagger with an intricate sculptural hilt depicting a lady in neoclassical style robes tugging at the fabric delicately draped over her hair. She is standing atop the guard of the dagger, which shows two bare-breasted sirens blowing trumpets, piercing around them, allowing light to pass through the guard. The quillons, long, slender, and curved, appear to be abstract bodies of beasts whose faces act as the attachment to the hilt. The blade is three-sided, allowing easy and deadly penetration.
