A SILVER-MOUNTED JAMBIYA DAGGER WITH STUDS, 19TH CENTURY - With a curved double-edged blade with a strong medial ridge and tapering point. The hilt of traditional T-shaped form, heavily mounted in silver and profusely set with colored glass or cabochon stones in red and green tones, arranged within engraved foliate and scrolling reserves. The pommel and grip are densely ornamented with applied silver settings and inset studs, creating a richly jeweled surface typical of high-status tribal daggers. A raised central collar chased with floral ornament separates the pommel and grip. The scabbard of characteristic jambiya shape, wood core covered in dark brown leather, with extensive silver mounts to the upper section, decorated in horizontal bands of beaded wirework, granulation, and geometric filigree panels. Twin suspension rings flank the upper scabbard, secured with braided cord and leather bindings. The leather covering shows age wear, shrinkage, and small losses, consistent with 19th-century manufacture and prolonged use. Yemen or Southern Arabia, 19th century.
