A TURKISH CARNELIAN AGATE DAMASCUS DAGGER - A fine dagger in the Ottoman style with a carved translucent agate hilt of warm carnelian tone. The handle is shaped with a flaring pommel and pronounced midsection, embellished with inset red and green stones arranged in decorative rosette patterns. The guard is similarly ornamented and fitted with gilt metal borders. The straight double-edged blade is forged of wootz steel with a visible watered pattern throughout. The forte is decorated with gold koftgari in scrolling floral motifs typical of Ottoman courtly metalwork. The narrow and elegant proportions of the blade indicate a ceremonial function rather than battlefield use. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
