AN INDIAN WOOTZ KHANJAR DAGGER WITH CARVED QUARTZ GRIP - A fine Indian khanjar with a carved pistol grip hilt made of light stone or bone with floral relief decoration and inset red stones. The pommel is formed with a rounded profile typical of pistol grip daggers and is adorned with a carved rosette. The guard terminates in two elegant scrolls enriched with small cabochon mounts. The curved double-edged blade is forged of high-quality wootz steel, showing a clear watered pattern. The forte is decorated with gold koftgari of scrolling vine-work extending into the upper blade surfaces. The blade has a pronounced curvature and strong medial ridge, giving it both strength and aesthetic refinement. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C. Condition: The blade shows a strong wootz pattern and bright gold koftgari with minor age wear. The hilt remains well preserved with visible carving and intact stones. Light surface marks consistent with age. Overall, an excellent example.
