THREE INDO-PERSIAN MINIATURE PAINTINGS - Comprising three oval miniature portraits executed in opaque watercolor on paper, mounted within a single glazed rectangular frame against a black ground with gilt oval surrounds. Each miniature depicts a bust-length profile portrait of a nobleman or prince wearing jeweled turbans and multiple strands of pearls, rendered in the Mughal revival style with fine stippling, delicate facial modeling, and bright enamel-like pigments. The central portrait depicts an elderly ruler, flanked by two younger princes shown in opposing profile. The arrangement suggests a dynastic or courtly lineage presentation rather than individual portraiture. The miniatures are painted in the 19th-century Indian atelier catering to the Anglo-Indian and European export market, drawing upon earlier Mughal conventions of royal portraiture.
