Finely executed portrait miniature, painted on bone, depicting a dark-haired young lady in a green velvet gown with lace collar and jeweled brooch, wearing an ornate hair ornament. The sitter is rendered with delicate detail and soft modeling characteristic of Stieler’s style, known especially for his celebrated portraits of European nobility.
